Hello all – I hope the first day of summer finds everybody in good health.

Well, I’m nearing the end of my two-year tenure as President. It’s been challenging at times, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it!

I’m a big believer in getting out there and introducing myself to people and managed to get to five of our official events last year (a lot of the others were cancelled due to Covid of course): The Great Yorkshire Show, Worcester Sale, Moreton in Marsh Show, Melton Mowbray Show and Sale, Masham Sheep Fair with our AGM - a total of very nearly 2,000 miles!

At the end of March, I paid a visit to Tom Boothman, one of our breeders in Yorkshire. We were given a very warm welcome on a snowy day, and it was a privilege to be shown his fine flock in picturesque surroundings.

Now I’m looking forward to getting out and about again this year and hope to meet up with as many of you as possible. In an ideal world, I’d attend every show, but of course work and commitments make this impossible, though I do keep trying to win the lottery!

We have updated the details of our official shows and results, sales and events on our website and Facebook. Please carry on supporting the shows, to ensure that we continue to have our own classes in 2022 and into the future. Thanks to all those who have already competed this year at our early shows, and my congratulations to all prize-winners.

I’d like to repeat my thanks to Holly Plante for all her enthusiasm and work for the Association and extend a very warm welcome to our new secretary – Jess Middleditch.
