46 OXFORD DOWNS ENTERED FOR WORCESTER 1st AUGUST 2026

The 24th annual Show & Sale of Oxford Downs at Worcester market on Saturday 1st August has attracted an entry of 46 head comprising 16 rams and 30 females consigned from the following registered flocks:

 

Applewick (P R & L Quick)

Horsley (R J & J Richardson)

Langrigg (A W Rutherford)

Longfriday (M G & J M Johnson)

Meadow Farm (F Dallas)

Monkstone (M F S Brown)

Montrose (H V Graham)

Rose-dene (J J Richardson)

Sundown (J A & C Porter)

Weeton (Mrs R J Steele)

 

The entry includes stock from both MV accredited and Signet performance recorded flocks. Online bidding will be available via MartEye.

 

The sale is an opportunity for those looking to start a new Oxford Down flock to acquire quality breeding stock. Existing breeders can obtain new stock rams or replenish their flocks with additional females, while commercial buyers will find rams suitable for use as terminal sires. The Oxford ram will sire strong lambs out of commercial ewes which are noted for their high growth rates and early maturity, hardiness, vigour at birth and carcase quality.

 

The show is scheduled to be held at 11 am followed by the sale at 1pm.
